GIRLS WEEKEND!!!

Yes, I am talkin bout me and my Sweet Pea. Friday night we went and got groceries (I know, exciting, right?), then came home, painted our fingernails & toenails and then watched Shark Tale.....2 times. =) Kennedy thinks it tickles to get your nails painted.

Saturday we went to lunch with my friend Annie. Then Kennedy hung out with her uncles while Annie & I went to the temple. It was so nice!! That was my first time back at the Timpanogos Temple since....Oct 28, '04. I had forgotten how beautiful it was! It was great to be able to go with a friend too!! =) After the temple, we came and picked up Kennedy & went to Provo to a craft/boutique fair. Maybe I can be a part of it next time..... ;) There were some fun and creative things to look at. Then since I had been telling Kennedy we would go to Chuck-E-Cheese's for quite some time now, and haven't followed through, I figured.....Hey, why not tonight?! Not like we have anything else going on. Needless to say, she was STOKED!!! Annie met up with us again there, and we had some fun taking some pics in their sketch booth. The first one, WOW! No warning/waiting period. As soon as I pushed the button, it took our pic immediately...LITERALLY!! (I think Annie's face is the best!)

Kennedy scored with 280 tickets. She got a microphone, some little case thing, a frisbee throw-er, 2 suckers and a purple comb....which she uses! =) It was pretty fun, but MY favorite was when we were leaving. Not BECAUSE we were leaving, but because of what Kennedy said. "Cheese is my best friend." (meaning, Chuck-E-Cheese...the mouse) I thought that was kind of cute.... then, as I was pulling out of the parking lot she said, "Mommy, I need my microphone." So, I handed it to her. Then she said, "Mommy, can I listen to Rock Star please?" Rock Star, is what she calls Pink's song 'So What'. So I put it in, turned it up a little and she sang her little lungs out....into the microphone!! (I drove around for a bit letting her have fun....she sang her heart out, until she passed out!) I was wishing SO bad that I had my camera, and that it was pitch black outside!! It was AWESOME!!

ARRRR Matey

Hooray! I got a job! I will be a server at Pirate Island. If you haven't seen where it is, it's over by the mall, behind the new theater. It's the building where the old movie theater was. If you haven't ever heard of Pirate Island.....well, you should definitely check it out once it opens. They are hoping to open by beginning-mid May. It's like Chuck-E-Cheese, but better. The restaurant is 18,000 sq ft, & all decked out with the pirate them. I am sure you may have a wait, once word gets out....but kids love it, and prices are good, so it's worth it. PLUS....maybe you could have me as your server! If you have been to the Mayan, you will kind of get what it will be like......so think of how decked out the Mayan is....and now, turn it into a Pirate theme....and there ya go! We went to this place every weekend in St George, before we moved. SO....... I am excited bout my job, and you should all be excited bout a fun new family restaurant that the kids will love!

Serious Business

Kennedy takes dance very seriously. Yesterday when we got there, her teacher waived and asked, "How are you Kennedy?" Her response: "I'm 3, & I need to dance."

DANCE!!

HOORAY!! Kennedy is finally old enough to take dance! I have been waiting 3 yrs for this. =) If you know me....you know why. AND....from the time she was about 6months, she has LOVED music, and can't sit still when she hears it. She actually is pretty good. When it's a fast song her face is all serious and she dances really fast....not just jumping or spinning. like some kids....but for real, dancing. When it's slow, she has a different facial expression, and moves slow with the music. She's pretty darn good at finding the beat in any song. Maybe one of these days I will figure out how to post a video on here, and then you can see for yourself.

So.....yesterday was her first day of dance class. We went down to Dance Works and bought her outfit and tap shoes....which she didn't want me to take off. (oh....and she for sure wore it all night!! Didn't even want to get into her jammies) She did so good in class. I was so proud, and got some chuckles out of watching her have so much fun. They had to crawl on the ground (sounds weird I know) and pretend to be a snake....she had a serious face on, and was TOTALLY "hissing"! I could hear her "hissing" from outside....and the door was closed. She listened to the teacher and had fun making new friends. She thought using the bar was pretty cool. She even got a sticker at the end of class, which she was stoked about! =) ANYWAY....so this picture is the one I took right before we were leaving for class. I told her I wanted to get a pic of her in her dance outfit and so she went to the middle of the room......and struck a pose. Then she kept posing wanting me to take more pics. Her friend Avery even got in on the posing. It was a fun day!!

Go figure....

I pretty much knew it was wishful thinking...... I didn't get the job, of course. Not that I wasn't grateful for the job that I got within a week of being here....but, they were jerks. And their pay sucked, so it was hardly worth it. When I called to quit, I got the following response. "Just remember Allison, what goes around comes around." Ummmm....ok. You're right....pay your employee's crappy wages, discriminate against them....they quit. The other response I got was, "Well, that just tells me what kind of a person you are, and explains why you're in the predicament that you're in." Wow.....nice, right? Yes, and this is a guy that knew me for 2 weeks.....and didn't know anything about my or my situation. I just love these judgemental, self-righteous pricks! Don't we believe, as mormons, to not judge others, love one another, turn the other cheek....????Anyway....ok, I am done with that venting session. But, once again, I am on the job hunt. So, if you hear of anything, let me know. =)

Tummy ache!

Aaahhh! I have such a tummy ache right now. I want that job at the dental office so bad....and I hate the waiting game!! I want it so bad, I feel like crying!

3 yrs old!!!

Wow! I can't believe my "baby" is 3 yrs old!! It's gone so fast, I can barely believe it! She is starting to lose even her "toddle look" and is starting to look like a "little girl". She is so much fun and she keeps me smiling and laughing! She loves to sing and dance, and now that she is 3, I can't wait to get her into a dance class. =) Last Saturday we went and got pictures take of Kennedy. My friend Maria (I call you my friend...hope you don't mind ;) took the pictures. She is a great photographer!! If you are looking for a photographer, contact her. She is wonderful. We are adjusting to our new "way of life", and luckily, I found a job within less than a week of moving. The only downside to the job...cause I actually enjoy the job....is the pay. It's so low. Today I applied at a dental office, and I am hoping and praying that something will happen there, and that I would be lucky enough to land that job! Then, I would be loving my job, and getting paid enough to support us comfortably. Keep your fingers crossed for me! If that job doesn't work out, at least I have a job....which I am grateful for, especially in this economy.
